In what comes as a proud moment for India, Nita Ambani and the captain of India’s women’s cricket team Mithali Raj have made it to the inaugural list of Forbes Most Powerful Women in Sports. The list was topped by the first female secretary general of FIFA, Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura of Senegal.
Nita Ambani who is the owner of Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League was placed at the ninth position while Mithali Raj who lead Indian cricket team to the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup last year, was ranked at number 12.
Interestingly, the top 3 positions were taken by women involved in football.
