SRMGI is an international project that seeks to expand the discussion of Solar Radiation Management(SRM) research governance, particularly in developing countries and emerging economies. It is a partnership launched by the Royal Society, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), and Environmental Defense Fund in March of 2010.
SRMGI is a global pioneer in bringing developing country voices into SRM discussions. The initiative does not take a stance on SRM research or the use of SRM. Instead it believes that a broad and inclusive dialogue will increase the chances that the issues SRM raises will be handled prudently and equitably at the international level.
